Awarded to rider of the day on City of Salisbury Closed Championship ( normally a Salisbury Rider )

1/ RACING POINTS.(Tiny Tots-Non competitive) 4 points to be awarded to each rider who participates in a race, no matter their finishing position. All tiny tots to be awarded a trophy at the end of year. (All other competitive Divisions/Grades) Points are awarded to the first four placegetters in all scratch and handicap races. First = 4 pts , Second =3 pts , Third = 2 pts and Fourth = 1 pt..At the end of the normal point scoring race season these points are added up with five points (Attendance points) per race meeting attended by the rider through out the normal point scoring race season , to give a total. The top three point scorers in each division are awarded trophies at the end of year. Allowances are made according to Club By-Laws.
Note..Racing points accumulated on Closed and Open Championships do not count in end of year point system.
2/ ATTENDANCE POINTS... Riders will receive an extra Five points if they participate in the grand parade, all races, clean up and attend the rider's meeting during a normal point scoring race meeting. Allowances can be made if reason given to excuse a rider from their duties.
3/ DRESSAGE TROPHIES..Riders from each Team earns points towards this trophy by being the tidiest rider and having the cleanest bike at each normal point scoring race meeting. These points accumulate over the racing season. Riders should wear their Club racing top or have one on order to be eligible
4/ HIGHEST POINTS TROPHY...The rider with the highest accumulated points (racing and attendance) will be awarded the highest points trophy at the end of the year. The rider shall also have his/her name placed on the club's highest points perpetual trophy . Note…..Tiny tots are ineligible for the highest points trophy.
5/ HIGHEST TEAM POINTS….The club's highest team points perpetual shield is to be awarded to the team with the highest accumulated points (racing and attendance) at the end of the year.
Note….Tiny tots points are to be excluded from the teams accumulated points.
6/ RIDER OF THE WEEK ...At the end of a normal point scoring race meeting a rider from any Division/Grade incl. Tiny Tots, who has tried hard on the day, not necessarily the rider who wins every race, it depends on the rider's behaviour and general attitude on the day is awarded points on a 3-2-1 points basis,
1st preference being awarded 3 pts, 2nd preference 2 pts and 3rd preference 1 pt., voting is done by the five officials on the day (Referee, Scorer, Flag Marshall, Announcer and Pit Marshall) by secret voting. The rider with the highest number of total preference points is declared the "Rider of the Week".
Note…. A record of the preference points are to be retained for use in awarding the "Rider of the Month/Year" as per "Description of Club Awards" number 7 and 8.
7/ RIDER OF THE MONTH.. This is awarded to the rider who accumulates the highest number of total preference points from the "Rider of the Week" voting during a calendar month.
8/ RIDER OF THE YEAR..This is awarded to the rider who accumulates the highest number of total preference points from the "Rider of the Week" voting at the end of the normal point scoring race season. If there is a tie, a count back will be conducted and the rider with the most times polled, will be declared the winner. The rider who wins this award shall have a Closed Championship in his / her honour.
9/ CITY OF SALISBURY MEDAL (formerly Mayor's Medal) This award is for the Division One to Division Four riders inclusive. At every normal point scoring race meeting four officials (Referee, Scorer ,Pit Marshall and Announcer) give their top three preferences on a 3-2-1 points basis, to riders who have impressed the officials in their attitude, appearance, consideration for others and the club at a high level.The rider who wins this award shall have a Closed Championship in his / her honour.
10/ PRESIDENT'S MEDAL...This is for Division Five down to Tiny Tots inclusive. At every normal point scoring race meeting four officials (Referee , Scorer , Pit Marshall and Announcer) give their top three preferences on a 3-2-1 points basis,to riders who have Impressed the officials in their attitude, appearance, consideration for others and the Club at a high level. The rider who wins this award shall have a Closed Championship in his / her honour.
11/ PAT ST CLAIR -DIXON AWARD...This is for the most improved rider through out the racing season, determined by the Executive / Management Committee.
12/ ENCOURAGEMENT AWARD.This award is self Explanatory, determined by the Executive / Management Committee.
13/ TRACK RECORDS…..A trophy shall be awarded to any rider who achieves a new track record during the racing year, this trophy will be awarded at the end of the year. Note….A rider is entitled to one trophy only, per division, per racing year.
14/ SERVICE AWARD.. This Award is for services to the Club, which may or may not be visible to the majority of it's members, determined by the Executive / Management Committee.
15/ LIFE MEMBERSHIP.. As set out by the Salisbury Cycle Speedway Constitution 13. (a ) and (b).
16/ JOHN VIRGO AWARD...This Award is given to a rider participating in the City of Salisbury Open Championship. ( from any Club ) Voted by officials on the day.
17/ HOWIE BOWEY AWARD.. This Award is given to a rider participating in the City of Salisbury Closed Championship. Voted by officials on the day.
