Comets burn Jets and roast Dolphins at Salisbury in Interclub No. 2 by Trevor Dutton

Findon's younger brigade did the damage from Division Seven to Division Four where the Comets gained 53 points over the Jets. The Jets in the past have had a very strong younger brigade and it was this group of riders that played a big part in Salisbury's domination of Interclub in the  more recent past.But lets not put the blame on the younger bridage because they worked their hearts out on the track and gave their all for the Club.

I have found that like most things Cycle Speedway it goes in works in cycles ( no pun intended ) and if you closely look at riders across all clubs, you have riders moving up a division and riders improving greatly and riders taking time to settle in on bigger bikes.In the first heat the Jets had the inside grids on the Comets but the Comets went into the second heat ten points up so this set the scene for the Jets to play catch up.

The Jets may have been missing some gun riders in Division four,three and one again this is only be an observation, we should never make excuses because on the day the Comets were 25 points better than us.Overall the Jets riders raced very well even with some strange decisions on the day, so if you take a close look at the score sheet, the riders ages and the results from the State Titles, you will see that this year will be a building year for the Jets in the younger divisions.

To the Jets younger bridage don't dispair hold your head up high for you showed us all,the Jets spirit of not giving up and putting in 100% always on the track and this was mirrored in the older divisions.

 Interclub is different from League with six riders on the track it is not about six five point scoring it's about knowing which team you need to finish in front and which team you can afford to give points to. well that's view.

STATE TITLE RESULTS

South Aust Cycle speedway. Annual State Titles were held at Salisbury Cycle speedway at Adams Ovel. Tanget ave. Salisbury north on Saturday the 2rd of May.

After a very wet Friday nigth the track needed some work to it before racing, with that done.The day turned into a very nice day for racing. With a dry day and a dry track that was as smoth as glass. Thanks to hard work by the track staff.

With a field of 95 riders taking part in this years. SA State Titles.

This made for some very exiting close racing with a few falls that kept our St Johns personel busy ( No major injuries )

Lead the way to start the day off. Lefevre rider Daniel Pundey took out the Title for Division one, (for the 5th time) followed by Cody Chadwick,Ross  Preist and Mathew  Mathews , during the recent World Title Tour held in February here in Adelaide, Daniel  Pudney won the Senior World Title with Cody Chadwick coming a close second.
